Barbara Bush: It's Good Enough for the Poor
This is actually two memes here. The first is unempathy, the unrealization that anyone else could possibly consider where they live to be "home". The second is that you should be thankful for any gift, no matter how half-hearted or bungled it is.
The question is, how do you teach people with such mindsets that they're wrong?

Date: 2005-09-07 10:42 pm (UTC)I saw that interview on teh newz last night and had a fit of "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!"
I hadn't had one of those since... well.. since three minutes before when they showed "Jim's Guns" selling "over a hundred guns a day" to fucktards who are scared that the IDPs from New Orleans will CAR JACK them (because they're black).
And then somebody referred to IDPs [internally displaced persons] as refugees and I went off again.
PLEASE NO MORE >_<
