Every so often one of these pops up, about how models get photoshopped so they look better. I'll probably get strung up for saying so, but I'm not so sure it's all that bad. A picture only appeals to one sense, sight. There's more to real life than that, so it only makes sense you'd need to compensate.
That's not to say Maxim and the like don't take the idea to insanely absurd lengths though.

Date: 2007-07-18 09:49 pm (UTC)I've been able to do some basic retouching, and I'm very impressed with the things I can do with simple operations in photoshop. The masters at this stuff can turn a 50 year old into a 20 year old. It's spooky.

Date: 2007-07-19 01:30 am (UTC)a. me likey. It keeps digital artist working. One of my first jobs out of college was to rotoscope the cellulite out of a commercial models thighs as she walked away from the camera. 24 frames a second for 30 seconds is actually a lot.
b. girls pukey. education about the modification of and touch ups as they call them them could help some girl from sticking her finger down her throat.
