Wow, an update! I just finished Catcher in the Rye. Boy, I can understand why

Aaaaaaaaand...that's about it. So far almost nothing of note has happened to me. Except I lost another chunk of tooth, and I'm willing to bet my dentist is going to say it needs a crown. (Sad face)
On to Bukowski's "Post Office" now. Hasta.
Edit: Holy shit, lookit all the bantowns. This my friends, is why you screen non-friends.

Date: 2007-01-10 01:14 pm (UTC)Been years since I read Catcher, but I remember thinking "what the hell's the point?". Eh maybe it's a guy thing.

Date: 2007-01-10 03:17 pm (UTC)yeah, wasn't so much his negative outlook that bothered me, but the way he treated people. i guess a negative outlook will have that effect a lot of the time, but still bothered me. i didn't feel the ending was intense, it felt like he just went on with his life. i guess he got a couple valuable pieces of advice, though. and yeah, his attitude toward children was his only redeeming quality in my view.
here's to hoping it's just a crown and not a root canal.

Date: 2007-01-11 12:04 am (UTC)I've never read it.
Date: 2007-01-12 01:38 pm (UTC)And now I probably won't have a chance to read it anyway, given where I am.
Is it good?
Not sure why I did.
Date: 2007-01-13 07:54 pm (UTC)Does where you is have book rate? I could be talked into sending a paperback copy.
No idea.
Date: 2007-01-20 09:32 am (UTC)But not to worry. I'm sure I could find it here if I were sufficiently motivated.
I just have a lot more other reading I have to do first.
