Closed schools, LULZ. Umm, sorry, not even gonna change my routine. Tropical storm RIGHT OFFSHORE!!!!! Lame. Gimme a break plz. OMG 15 MPH winds!!! *yawn*

Actually, I'm kinda betting on the loop around. But even then, NOT GONNA WORRY. It's a wimpy storm. Hell, I didn't even know it had a name till I noticed a bip on google news.

Can we save the hysteria for something like a real hurricane? You know, like say, Katrina? Plz?

Geez, we even get suchlike tropical storms here, usually during spring and fall. Sometimes we get winds around 60-70MPH with gusts up around 90. Not hurricanes, just full gales or storms.

Funny, they usually happen on red letter days too. The Columbus Day storm, the Inauguration Day storm, the Thanksgiving Day storm (I had turkey lunchmeat sandwiches that day- no power).

They did close Volusia county public schools and open storm shelters. But, at noon I heard on the news that there wasn't a big response to the storm shelters, so they are planning to close them this evening. I think the media is trying to make this tropical storm stuff into a real story - it's ridiculous! I heard them go on for like 15 minutes about big waves and wind at the beach...isn't it always windy at the beach? Maybe I'm just cynical, but this is all a big bunch of bs.

I got flamed in hurricanehaters for calling Katrina a wussy storm when it hit Miami. I just lol'ed. I don't start respectin' till the max wind speeds are up to 120.

I'm just tired of the local media trying to whip everyone into a big frenzy over nothing. This is nothing!! A little wind and rain and they're acting like we need to board up our windows. I hate the local news.
