What the Hell #90

It's funny, the half of my friends' list that isn't RIP Arthur C Clarke today is good for you becoming a catholic [livejournal.com profile] docbrite.

Expect lame comparisons with Anne Rice.

Next thing you know I'll win the lottery, and then I'll really be worried.

I love Doc, but does that mean I am catholic? I never read Clarke. I did see 2001: Space Odyssey though. "Just what do you think you are doing Dave?" That gives me chills.

*I was raised catholic...don't know if that matters or not.*

You're a catholic the moment dad came.

And most people I know say it sucked, but 2010 explained HAL's "psychosis" pretty neatly. ZOMG RATIONAL ANSWERS for the lose!

As far as I'm concerned, returning to the religion of her youth is the most sensible thing Anne Rice has done in several decades (though I have no more interest in reading her books about Jesus than I do in reading any of her other stuff). Anyone who seriously thinks I would convert because of her must be ... well, er, stupid enough to think she was a big influence on Lost Souls. ;-P

Oh, I wouldn't expect anyone but the most deranged sort of idiot to think *that*. But I can imagine the peanut gallery that can already barely distinguish between y'all anyway to just go NUTS.

I'm pleased to say that those people no longer exist for me.

That's weird, I just picked up a copy of "Firstborn" from the library recently. *sigh*, I really liked his stuff.
